In pursuance to Presidential Proclamation No.647 and DepED Memorandum No. 357, s. 2009, the Department of Education, Division of Davao City held its first Statistics Challenge at the Division Training Center, on October 21, 2009 with the theme “Enhancing Security Sector, Statistics for Good Governance, Peace and Sustainable Development”. This first Statistics Challenge of Davao City Division coherently carried out the national objectives: (a) to promote, enhance and instill a nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and (b) to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality standards of statistics in the country.
