Tuloy-ang-Pasko-ng-mga-bata-2009Christmas is a time of great joy and
anticipation for children of all ages. It is a season for giving and sharing. The “Tuloy ang Pasko ng mga Bata”is a nationwide Christmas Outreach Program of the Department of Education based on DepEd Order #178, s. 2007.
Davao City Division organized an activity for
children of Mudiang Elementary School. These children were given a chance to experience the joy of Christmas by receiving gifts and playing games with lots of prizes. Tuloy-ang-Pasko-ng-mga-bata-2009A clown-magician brightens the affair because kids enjoyed watching the different antics shown. It was astounding how the kids savored their favorite burger and sweet-flavored ice cream for snacks and a sumptuous lunch.

Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. donates 0.6M worth of satellite dishes and television sets

are recipients of satellite dishes and 29 inch
flat screen television sets from Knowledge
Channel Foundation, Inc.
This educational television infrastructure which
was installed in four (4) schools last
September 2010 will give access to relevant
video programs inTurnover-Ceremony-Knowledge-Channel-Foundation Mathematics, Science and English. Based on the study conducted by the
University of the Philippines School of Statistics, Knowledge Channel contributes to a 2% increase in the National Achievement Test scores when used regularly and effectively.

Davao Region’s Batang Star wins Best in Talent in Nationwide Search

With the theme “A Healthy Lifestyle ng Kabataan: Landas sa Kinabukasan”,
Star Margarine recently held another successful edition of its Star ‘Nutriskwela’
school tour in various elementary schools nationwide.

The food conglomerate visited as many as 100 public and private schools
hosted the tour, which highlighted the importance of nutrition in the total

MOA Signing with DLPC

Davao Light and Power Company Signs Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the City Government of Davao and Department of Education, Davao City Division

Government of Davao and the Department of Education signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last November 16, 2009 at OPAL Room, NEAP XI and LDC Building, Quirino Avenue, Davao City for the Library Hub at F. Bustamante Central Elementary School, one (1) unit 3-classroom building at Mahayag National High School and Science laboratory at Palma Gil Elementary School. The MOA Signing was represented by the top ranking officials of the three agencies: Jaime Jose Y. Aboitiz (President of Davao Light); Honorable Rodrigo R. Duterte (Davao City Mayor); and Helen D. Paguican, Ph.D. (Davao City Schools Division Superintendent). This aims to improve quality education. The MOA Signing was immediately followed with the ribbon cutting ceremony at Palma Gil Elementary School Laboratory for the final turnover of the Php 2,000.000M (2M) worth of Science laboratory building and PhP 250,000.000 thousand worth of equipment. The Laboratory building was named after the late president of Davao Light and Power Company Alfonso Y. Aboitiz.
