Information and Communication Technology topics including cyber security, social media literacy, and data privacy, were among the issues discussed during the competition.

Shaira May Dulfo revealed that working well in a team was the ultimate key to success. “We divided the module. Sa Nationals, naga study na talaga kami,” Dulfo said, highlighting the importance of a thorough, intensive and extensive preparations, research, and study, in every competition.

Furthermore, Dulfo shared how the competition paved the way for her to see her mother once again, after a couple of years; the experience, she said, can be likened to a dream. “Gandang experience. Parang panaginip lamang. Ang daming nagawa ng PLDT para sa amin,” Dulfo remarked.

“I’m also glad na ganun ang impact ng program namin. Do not stop here. Continue to reach your dreams. We are glad na nakatulong sa inyo si PLDT  sa inyong pag-aaral,” the representative from PLDT said. The representative from the PLDT has initially promised to maintain their endeavors in championing digital literacy among all schools, particularly through the PLDT Infoteach Outreach Program, the flagship Corporal Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the company.

According to Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent of the DepEd Division of Davao City, the schools must continue to conduct their ICT-based instruction in order to produce excellent, globally competitive students. “Media literacy is one major component of the 21st century skills. There are 6 other components. Media literacy is the core (component).  Let the schools do their ICT-based instruction. Let the students and teachers use MS Word, Excell and Powerpoint, ” SDS Asuncion said.

The Department of Education Davao City Division spearheaded by the Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion CESO V continues to initiate, create, and craft partnerships with the stakeholders in society in order to promote educational programs geared for the good welfare and success of all students across the city.
