CITY— As part of their Cultural Social Responsibility (CSR), the City Savings
Bank (CSB), in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) Davao City
Division officiated the Department of Education Alternative Learning System (DepEd-ALS)
turn-over ceremony on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. The CSB donated three (3)
sets of projectors to the ALS Learning Centers in General Roxas, Malabog, and
Paquibato, respectively. According to the CSB, their full commitment to
create CSR projects with DepEd shall continue. “A better educated youth gives
hope to the future of our country and this belief drives us to contribute more
to the education-related CSR initiatives. To continuously support the learning
needs of the marginalized and underserved learners, we have allocated a portion
of our CSR budget for the Alternative Learning System-related projects
nationwide. To date, over 4,400 ALS mobile teachers from 128 school divisions all
over the country have benefited from the educational tools we donated since
2016,” the representative from CSB said during the opening speech of the
turn-over ceremony. CSR projects of City Savings Bank to Schools and Learning Centers in DepEd Davao City Division The other CSR projects of CSB that were also realized through the initiative of the DepEd Davao City Division including the donation of LCD projectors and printers (with scanners and photo copiers) to A.L. Navarro National High School and Columbus Elementary School, and the turn-over of 2.0 HP Aircondition sets to Sixto Babao Elementary School and Bonifacio Elementary School. “We at City Savings are honored to be one of your key stakeholders in Region 11 Division of Davao City. We look forward to more partnerships with the Department of Education on programs that promote sustainable growth and capability building for our beneficiaries,” the representative from CSB said. The Department of Education Davao City Division spearheaded by the Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion CESO V fully support the endeavors of the stakeholders in the city that are geared towards the welfare and the development of the students.
