This was one invitation I readily accepted for the simple reason that it carries an advocacy closest to my heart which, as everyone knows, is the relentless campaign against illegal drugs. And I thank the Teodoro Palma Gil Elementary School Supreme Pupil Government for organizing this "Kabataan Kontra sa Droga" Symposium.

Making a Real Home at Apolinario Mabini Elementary School
It is 20 days before the Davao Regional Athletic Association (DavRAA) 2018! Athletes and coaches of Davao Durians are already gearing towards the real battle in the different sports competitions. To guarantee their comfort and ease throughout their stay at Apolinario Mabini Elementary School (AMES) – their billeting quarters from January 17 to February 23, 2018 – the Local Government Unit of Davao City, in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Davao City, ensured that everything that they need is in place and readily available.
Aside from providing them with healthful and sumptuous meals, the management also offered them an environment with a tranquil atmosphere to bring the spirit of harmony to the athletes and give them a home away from their real home. A dancing fountain and two waterfalls will be constructed in AMES as told by Mr. Deony Ferolino, Chairperson on the Beautification and Rotunda Committee. In addition, landscaping activities are also being done within the area to make the place truly livable despite being situated in the middle of highly urbanized setting.
A lot of beautification are still to be expected in AMES before the DAVRAA 2018 finally opens on February 18, 2018 – and this is something spectacular for everyone to look forward after 20 days! (Aida Placencia)
